Group Faceting Class
December 13-14, 2024

Class is in session!!!

I will be coming to the West Highland neighborhood in Denver, Colorado to host a 2-day glass faceting class on December 13th and 14th. This will be a ticketed class catering towards beginner-to-intermediate faceters, hosted at a private glassblowing studio. My class is a fully immersive, hands on workshop that outlines everything necessary to confidently grasp the art of faceting from a beginner's standpoint. *Limited to 8 seats to ensure maximum learning opportunities* Tuition is $650 for the two days (12p-8pm) and includes a catered dinner both nights.  Fill out a form below if you want to be screened for class compatibility.   • mast-based faceting using a fixed armature 

  • understanding the index wheel 

  • proper grit progression for grinding and polishing glass

  • how and why facets work

  • dopping techniques

  • designing a facet pattern

  • mathematic calculations within faceting

  • troubleshooting issues while faceting 

  • how to repair damaged facets on a finished piece

  • chasing micro scratches (how to beat them!)

  • how to achieve a museum grade polish

  • geometric technicalities within faceting

  • calculating how facets impact the value of your art

  • how to photograph faceted glass

In this two day class, I will walk you through all of the proper steps necessary to masterfully facet your glass with ease. There will be hands-on faceting opportunities for students in the class as well as 1-on-1 feedback sessions where students can receive constructive criticism on their work. Glass can be provided for student faceting, or you can bring your own small piece to facet (pref. under 30mm).
